Spring is coming!
As the days start to lengthen we change our outdoor times (and eventually go back outdoors in the week!). Sundays now start at 1500hrs. Keep an eye out for further changes as light allows!

DUFFA Indoor Sessions
The trial was a success. We have a regular booking at the Parrs Wood High School. 2100hrs - 2230hrs every Wednesday.
Please note there will be no session on the 17th December due to exams.

Final outdoor Thursday session?
Tonight we have our last Thursday evening session in Didsbury Park. We're starting at 1630hrs and playing until we can't see the disc coming at us.
We're hoping to find somewhere to play (either indoors or floodlit) to start Thursdays back up soon.

As the nights are drawing in again we're starting to play a little earlier. Don't worry if you can't get there for the start - you can join in anytime and if you're new then there are always people on the side line to welcome and take you through the basics.

Alternative Sports Day
Fancy trying something different? Want to play a team sport other than football, netball or rugby? Come down to Manchester Alternative Sports Day on Saturday 4th October at Platt Fields Park!
We are holding a sports day - but with a twist! FREE to participate, Alternative Sports Day is an opportunity for you to try out three cool sports: Korfball, Ultimate Frisbee and Softball! 3 different sports but with lots in common: they are three of the very few team sports that men and women play together on equal terms; they are field sports that can also be played indoors and they are a lot of fun!

DUFFA HAT Tournament 2008
Didsbury Ultimate Frisbee For Amateurs will sponsor our first tournament, DUFFA Hat 2008! Held on the 26th & 27th of July. The tournament will last all day Saturday and most of Sunday, with the final played late Sunday afternoon. The tournament will take place at the Burnage Rugby Club, Varley Park, Manchester. Duffa Discs Ordered!
Discraft has replied with a formal quote for our order, but unfortunately our art was rejected because it had "friz bee" in the text. I have resubmitted the art... it now just says "Didsbury Ultimate" instead of "Didsbury Ultimate Friz bee For Amatuers." I have asked them to charge my credit card and begin the order.

Old Man Winter Returns
As the clocks have gone back and the cold is setting in we no longer play weekdays. We are looking at trying to find a floodlit pitch or an affordable indoor option.
We now play at 1500hrs every Sunday, weather is not a factor, we are hard 'uns!

A baby is born, that baby is DUFFA!
We are now a properly constituted club! We decided to get organised so that we could get a bank account, that being the first step toward getting sports funding from lottery funds or the council. It might take us a while to get through the first funding cycle, but the chances are good that we could get funding for things like t-shirts or indoor pitchs for winter play.
At our first meeting/BBQ, we adopted a constitution and elected an executive committee. Alan Heckman is the Chair, Steve Morgan is the Secretary, John Mulliss is the Treasurer, and Steve Senior, Hannah Spokes, and James Griffin fill out the committee. If you want to be on the formal membership list of DUFFA, tell Steve Morgan; He will add you as long as you have been to two events. There is no membership fee or anything like that. No one has to be a member; DUFFA events will always be open to everyone and welcoming to complete beginners.
