Transatlantic Manchester Ultimate Frisbee Derby!
Traditionally a derby is played by two close teams. We have a twinned club in Manchester, New Hampshire. The 3140 miles separating the two clubs shouldn't be an issue I feel to hosting a derby.
To make this work DUFFA and MUFF will both play a fixture at their home grounds. We'll split our squad and call half “MUFF” and they will play on behalf of our transatlantic cousins. The other half will wear the DUFFA shirt with the spirit and pride we all know.
The game will be 50 minutes – no cap. We'll keep the scores secret until both games have been played and announce the winner (summing the scores). In the event of a tie away points will count as two.
To make this work anyone playing will have a shirt – a special commemorative DUFFA / MUFF Derby shirt with a unique logo. we're hoping to get these made for less than GBP8 but you would be committing to playing for this if you sign up.
We're going to try really hard to get our local newspapers, radio (possibly even local TV!) to cover this.

DUFFA IS TWO!
When we started up Steve M was quoted as saying "we can't run DUFFA more than twice a month", shortly after saying that we were running two sessions a week. About a month later we had 30 members. A year later we had a lovely party with about 60 people there.
Membership now stands at a whopping 192 members! Well done DUFFA and thanks everyone for making it a success. This party is to celebrate throwing around a bit of plastic in a park with some old and new found friends.

DUFFACTOR
Our second Christmas party will be held at the Didsbury Cricket Club on the 19th December 2008.
We're hosting a Karaoke party with a slight twist. You have to dress up as a pop star of your choice. Singing is optional!

DUFFA Is One
Our first ever DUFFA was on the 25th of May, 2007. Little did we realise that it would be such a success! Day will start at 1400 for a game (well what else!) . We can then play until tired and then retire to either Steve's or Simon's for a BBQ, AGM and awards ceremony.
The party will continue with the usual fine wine, chat and fun. Unconfirmed rumors that we might get an ill fitting costume for Tim to wear are just that - unconfirmed.

Shelley's Birthday = Frisbee Golf!
Shelley is turning 30 and thought it would be the perfect excuse to try out Disc Golf at the only course in Britain that was purchased and landscaped for the sport!
Don't worry if you've never played before as neither have I! I've been told that it's really accessible to complete beginners. Derek Robins (owner of Quarry Park Disc Golf and 16 time British Disc Golf Tour Champion) has agreed to be around to lend us golf discs and give us a few pointers.

DUFFA Christmas Social 8th December
James L, Stevie S and Penny are hosting the very first DUFFA Christmas Social! It promises to be an amazing night... Stevie has drunkenly promised to transform his front room into a santa's grotto. There will be music (any volunteers, Phil??), drink (BYOB please), and a secret santa!

We are putting to a vote the location and date or our Christmas social. Between the differing views of Steve (who wants it in the Royal Oak with a sausage roll buffet) and Sahar (who wants a swanky meal somewhere) we should find somewhere nice!
